Stafford Jewelers Introduces New Look With the Same Great Quality

Stafford Jewelers is sporting a new brand, and their Kenwood location has a more approachable, personal look and feel. But their time-tested, family-strong business philosophy hasn’t wavered, says Amy Stafford. This second-generation community-centered company remains dedicated to providing the best customer service, at the best price, for the best quality.

“What it comes down to is our employees, and our expectations of them,” says Amy Stafford. “We want to make sure they’re listening to our clients, helping them find or create the piece of jewelry they not only want, but can afford, so they leave our store happy and proud to have participated in the process. We want our customers to feel comfortable and confident coming into our store.”

With her sons Jimmy and Jacob assisting her at the company helm, Stafford is excited about helping steer the company’s next generation around the bend, seeing to it that Stafford Jewelers offers the edgiest, most unique jewelry selection in Cincinnati. That takes staying on top of the latest jewelry styles and trends while at the same time exploring ways to elevate and accentuate each customer’s individuality and uniqueness.

The company’s new logo – described as regal, recognizable and timeless – is comprised of three graphic elements which form a stylized “S”, symbolizing Stafford and her two sons. And the E’s have been removed from the word jewelers, a nod to the brand’s modern, yet rebellious side.

The revamping of the inside of the Kenwood store is not yet complete, but customers are already enjoying and appreciating Stafford Jewelers’ new plush boutique, a private area designed for customers to sit down and work one-on-one with sales staff as they view the loose diamonds that will be the foundation of the rings they are building.

“And we’ve softened the store, carpeted the hardwood floors, brought in lighter, brighter colors,” Stafford notes. “We’re giving it a more feminine feel because women today have a louder voice in picking out their wedding rings.”

Traditionally, jewelry stores have had a more masculine decor because it was most often the man who came in and chose a ring on their own, she explains. “Now, more couples come in or a woman comes in first to pick out the ring.”

Stafford Jewelers moved from their original Montgomery Road storefront to a prominent space in Kenwood Towne Centre several years ago, and the family opened a second location at Fifth and Race streets in downtown Cincinnati. Sons Jimmy and Jacob serve as directors of operations at the downtown store and Kenwood store, respectively.

In addition to intentionally evolving to meet customers’ needs in the modern diamond marketplace and beyond, Stafford  and her sons continue to ensure that the long-term relationships between sales staff and clients remain the backbone of their business – a business that has successfully stretched across two-plus decades.

Bottom line: Stafford Jewelers is a family business, and sales people treat each customer as one of the family. That’s imperative when customers are buying a gift of jewelry, whether it’s a $150 charm for a loved one’s bracelet, or a $5,000 diamond pendant, Stafford notes.

“What other jewelry store can you walk into in this city where the name on the door is the same as some of the people working on the floor? We care about you. It’s not just a purchase you’re making. It’s your engagement ring. It’s your anniversary gift. It’s your child’s graduation. We want to be part of those experiences, part of your

lasting memories.”

Stafford Jewelers is located in Kenwood Towne Centre and at Fifth and Race streets, downtown. For more information, call 513.891.5200 or visit www.staffordjewelers.com
