Horter Investment Management not only puts great care on where they invest for their clients, they have also invested in an experienced team of advisors. These people work with clients individually to achieve a desired lifestyle during retirement.

Brion T. Walters

“At Horter, we put the client first,” says Walters. “In my opinion we only use the best money managers and investment products available.”

After graduating from Turpin High School, Walters went to John Carroll University and has years of experience advising clients who are approaching retirement.

As a Chartered Financial Consultant, Walters guides clients through not only investment planning, but also Social Security maximization.

“Too often, brokers from other firms put their interests over the client’s. I was amazed by Horter’s world-class fiduciary position where we sit on the same side of the table as the client in order to first see their needs and then develop the right strategies.”

Doug Wondrely

With more than 20 years of experience, Wondrely believes in educating his clients while striving to lead them to a successful financial future.

“Many investors falsely believe that they can achieve different results by continuing to use the same asset allocation strategies for managing portfolios,” says Wondrely, a Northern Kentucky native. “But they owe it to their family’s future to learn that this just isn’t the case.

“Horter has an incredible philosophy on money management, specifically designed to protect portfolio assets during severe bear markets.”

Wondrely tailors each client’s plan to their own unique financial goals and helps prepare them for retirement.

Jeff Martin

Armed with more than a decade of experience and a degree in accounting, Martin enjoys sharing what he has learned from working in the industry and tries to learn something new everyday.

“What attracted me to Horter was the use of tactical money managers,” Martin says. “After being exposed to tactical management, I truly believe it is the best thing for a client. The most common misconception is that investors have to accept whatever the market gives them and in my opinion this is just not true with active money management.

“At Horter Investment Management, we are typically bringing a level of private wealth management that most clients could not get on their own, due to our lower account minimums. Our clients have exposure to multiple professional money managers, all seriously managing their portfolios in an attempt to minimize losses. For a retiree, a sequence of returns can make or break their retirement plan.”

Jeffery Schmidt

Schmidt is a graduate of Holmes High School and attended Northern Kentucky University. He has 26 years of experience working in the financial services industry helping clients navigate the many past turbulent markets.

“Here at Horter, for the first time in 26 years, I have an opportunity to offer my clients a system designed to be low risk and low volatility to help meet their objectives and needs. We work with people who have been through multiple market down cycles and are uneasy about their ability to maintain their current lifestyle in retirement.

I truly enjoy being in a position where I have the opportunity to help my clients when the markets are trending downward. It’s a privilege to present clients with a strategy that may prevent them from postponing their retirement plan. At Horter, our goal is to eliminate fear and educate our clients so they can make informed decisions about their financial future. I’m actually having more fun than I have ever had.”

Jason Pyles

Pyles has worked in sales, management, training and advisory roles at major financial service companies for 18 years.

“I truly enjoy the fiduciary management style here at Horter,” says Pyles. “Lots of people believe that when it comes to investing that they can survive huge losses. Unfortunately, a huge loss can really limit a retirement plan by capping the amount of income they receive and forcing them to change to a lifestyle they weren’t expecting.

“What I like most about working at Horter is having the opportunities to not only educate and share my experiences with my clients, but also with the general public. It’s important to understand and begin planning for retirement at any age.”

Scott Roberts

“I worked for another investment firm for 16 years,” says Roberts. “But there was nothing there worth talking about. No hot stock or mutual fund – just the typical ‘buy and hold’ investments. With Horter, I finally had some stories to tell. Here’s a company that invests your money and watches it. If the road gets rough, they’ll get out of the market and sit on the sidelines until their model says it’s time to get back in. There are very few firms that will do that.”

Roberts, who graduated from Moeller High School and the University of Cincinnati, understands the needs of his Cincinnati clients.

“At Horter, we take the time to get to know you and your family and your financial goals. If you place your investments in our care, we are going to do what is best for you. We do this not only because we are fiduciaries, but because it’s the right thing

to do.”
