Knife Fork Spoon

At the heart of the Peterloon Foundation is the desire to be a champion for local nonprofit organizations. The foundation’s primary function is to serve as a unique venue where qualified charitable organizations can host their events at Peterloon. This mission was built on the legacy of philanthropists and patrons of the arts, John J. and Irene Emery. When building their family home, Peterloon, John J. and Irene Emery were intentional in designing a home that included large open rooms and ample outdoor space ideal for hosting musical performances and fundraising events. Established in 1979, the Peterloon Foundation has helped numerous nonprofits through events and charitable giving.

Knife Fork Spoon at Peterloon is a new series of dinners that will benefit partner charities at ticketed events that will be open to the pub- lic for an evening of fun and deliciousness. Each event will take you through a culinary journey featuring tantalizing cuisine and creative cocktails and tastings from Cincinnati’s top catering companies. The events will support the partnering local charitable organization by do- nation of the evening’s proceeds. These festive and themed affairs will be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy an amazing evening out with friends and family while experiencing the stunning and historical beauty of Peterloon and supporting valued local charities.

On Wednesday, Sept. 22, Peterloon will host its first Knife Fork Spoon evening featuring culinary delights and craft cocktails from The Phoenix Catering. Ticket sales for this event will benefit Magnified Giving.

The mission of Magnified Giving is to educate, inspire and engage students in philanthropy, and to touch the hearts and minds of teens, lighten the concerns of others and magnify the impact of philanthropy.

“At Magnified Giving, we magnify the impact of our supporters’ gifts by granting funds to local nonprofits through the hands of student philanthropists,” says Kelly Collison, executive director at Magnified Giving. “In doing this, student philanthropists study, select and deliver grants to local nonprofits they care about. This magnifies the impact of our supporters’ donations by both assisting the charity and developing tomorrow’s philanthropists today!”

As a partner to the nonprofit community, it is important for Peterloon to help share the good work charitable organizations are doing.

“In addition to being a special place for nonprofits to host their events at a significantly reduced rental rate, we are always looking for ways to help share their message, and one way we do this is through highlighting our partners through our social media, website and marketing,” says Jamie Rogers, marketing and events director at Peterloon. “We will continue to find more opportunities to be an ally to the nonprofit community and encourage organizations to reach out and learn more about how they can partner with Peterloon.”
