Sway by MadTree is a sparkling vodka soda artfully crafted and carefully intentioned, just like you’d expect from a trusted name like MadTree. While handcrafted cocktails have been part of their taproom and restaurant for several years, the team knew they wanted to get them into new customers’ hands.
“Our cocktails are something that we take a lot of pride in,” says Emily Chapel, Marketing Director at MadTree. “We’ve got an amazing team and production group that crafted Sway by MadTree in the same way that we craft our beer.”
While there are lots of seltzers and sodas on the market, the team at MadTree knew they needed something special. “We wanted something that was more artfully crafted,” says Creative Director Kricket Murnahan. “It’s more elevated with natural botanicals and fruits. We’re very intentional with the flavors, the ingredients and the can design.”
The gorgeous artwork on the cans and boxes is done entirely in-house by MadTree’s design team and showcases the flavors inside. It looks like an art piece with big, bold illustrations.
Months of research and consumer taste tests went into refining the perfect flavor combinations, down to the filtered water and vodka to use. The tastiest vodka came from Northside Distilling, continuing MadTree’s commitment to working with local businesses.
“We had vodkas from all over the United States,” says Brittany Frey, Production Manager. “It worked out beautifully that a local brand in Northside worked best for what we wanted this to be. It’s a local company that we can grow with.”
MadTree belongs to 1% for the Planet, and 1% of profits from every can sold protects the environment, including local causes right here in Cincinnati. Sway by MadTree helps plant trees in Cincinnati parks, supports community projects at the Cincinnati Zoo, and partners with groups like Adventure Crew to send city teens into the wild outdoors.
But perhaps the most important thing to know about Sway by MadTree is why it’s become one of MadTree’s best-sellers.

The sparkling vodka soda comes in two delicious flavors: Strawberry + Guava and Grapefruit + Ginger. The flavors are light and not too sweet, and the carbonation is just right to give you a peppy fizz without making your eyes water. More flavors are coming in September, with more to follow in 2023.
