Renaissance Cincinnati: Cincinnati's Hidden Gem Awaits Your Next Event

Many locals and visitors are familiar with the luxurious Renaissance Hotel on East 4th Street in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. However, they may not know of the hidden gem nestled inside the Renaissance, the historic Burnham Hall.

Burnham Hall is a premier event venue with unique architecture dating back to the early 1900s. When the building was redesigned into a hotel in 2014, they strived to maintain the original features that keep the venue memorable. “Patrons choose to host their most special events at our hotel because of the feeling they get when being here. Not only is it a beautiful venue, but it’s a unique place in the city and full of history,” says Tracy Hartman, Renaissance catering director.

With over 300 hotel rooms, it’s easy to plan an event at Burnham Hall and make a weekend out of it.

The Renaissance Hotel hosts many events throughout the year, such as nonprofit events, galas, weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, bridal and baby showers, and corporate events — to name a few. The venue can accommodate 350 people for a sit-down lunch or dinner and more than 700 guests for a standing cocktail reception. It also has nine meeting rooms for business meetings and social events.

“Our venue can host any event, big or small,” says Hartman. “Burnham Hall has the perfect layout for fundraising events; there’s room for registration, auctions and entertainment, and quieter rooms on the third floor to catch a bird’s eye view of the excitement below.”

Burnham Hall at the Renaissance Hotel provides exceptional event accommodations and top-notch culinary menu options for your special day.

“Our chef and culinary team are always excited to come up with various food options to follow along with your event’s theme,” Hartman says. When planning your event at Burnham Hall, you can expect their professional culinary and banquet team to assist in making it memorable.

If event planning is stressful for you, let their sales and event team do the heavy lifting. “We have many network connections in the area that can help make your special event memorable from audio visual to floral, and we would love to help you,” Hartman says.

Creating FUN, Together

The Karen Wellington Foundation (KWF) is one of many delighted clients, holding its “Karen’s Gift” gala at the Renaissance each year. “Not only has the Renaissance accommodated our group of 700, but they have also gone above and beyond to help us serve our recipients in various ways,” says KWF Marketing Manager Angeline Wellington.

The K WF’s mission is to put FUN on the calendars of women and families LIVING with breast cancer. They give recipients gifts such as vacations, spa days, concert tickets, dinners, and more each year. “We want women LI VING with breast cancer to leave it in the rearview and focus on the FUN,” Wellington says.

“The Renaissance has provided these women and families a respite of sorts through special accommodations, hotel stays, and other staycation opportunities for those who prefer FUN closer to home.

“Their vision and values align with our own, making this partnership a great fit for our mission,” Wellington notes.

“During this year’s gala, a young man working valet welcomed me to the Renaissance, congratulated our foundation on the evening ahead, and mentioned his parents were going to be at the event. He told me that KWF sent his family on vacation to Florida, and it was an experience he will never forget.

“The Renaissance has helped us build this community over the years, and I can’t thank them enough,” Wellington adds. “Our collaborative efforts with the Renaissance have helped the KWF raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for women and families LIVING with breast cancer.” The Renaissance also has evolved with us. It has been there to help accommodate the growth of our foundation.”

Hartman agrees. “It has been such a pleasure working with the team at the Karen Wellington Foundation. We have always loved being a part of their story because they do such magnificent work for women LIVING with breast cancer,” says Hartman. “It’s an honor to host this event and share these memories with the folks who do good in our community. We love having nonprofit groups and fundraising galas hosting their events with us because it allows us to be a part of something greater than the hotel and connect with our community.”
