They say it takes a village. In this case, it took a terrific trio of creatives to build, design, and furnish a knockout new home in Mt. Adams.
Jim Bronzie of Bronzie Design and Build tore down a tiny house on Monastery to build a five-level, modern LEED Platinum home with west-facing city views with the intention to sell.
Although he says he originally planned to build a simplistic modern home, he pivoted to make the project more exciting. “I love modern architecture,” Bronzie said. “[The original project] wasn’t exciting me so I changed my mind and decided to go a completely different direction. I wanted to create something you rarely find in Cincinnati and bring a new level of luxury to the market here.”
While Bronzie brought in details such as wood paneling, unique wood ceiling details, metal, plaster, black walls, and shadow gap reveals, Aubrie Welsh of Aubrie Welsh Interiors was tasked with selecting the finish materials for the interior.
In keeping with the California contemporary design of the house, Welsh sought clean lines with natural finishes in wood and warm tones for the fabric and leathers. For furniture and other decorative elements like rugs and handmade ceramic art pieces, she turned to Jeff Hinkel, president of Voltage Furniture.
Since Hinkel and Welsh have worked together in the past, they approached the initial shopping trip together, then Welsh and her team completed the setup, staging, and styling of the home’s interior. “Voltage has been a great partner in the past, and their furniture offering was a perfect style and quality fit for the home,” Welsh said.
High-quality build, design, and furniture are what make this amazing home stand out from the crowd. As Welsh puts it, “[It’s] a testament to what’s possible when the right team is assembled for a project, and the trust is explicitly given to the designer and builder.”
