Drawn To The City – And Those River Views!

Gone are the days that the dream is to build a house in suburbia and spend one’s days breathing in the quiet and tending to finely manicured lawns. Folks of all ages are increasingly interested in embracing the city life—partly because they do crave a little activity that we have all been missing over the past year. Plus, those finely manicured lawns take ample work to keep up!

“We see a lot of people are shaving off the big yards because they don’t want to have to worry about lawn maintenance,” says Casey Longbottom, Sterling Homes’ project coordinator. “Instead, they want to be able to come home, go out to eat and enjoy city life! They like being able to walk to do things and not feel so disconnected from living in a suburban setting.”

For these reasons, and many more, homeowners are attracted to Walworth Junction, a 39-home luxury community nestled along the Ohio River between Hyde Park and Mt. Lookout. The site of the 2020 Homearama, Walworth Junction is literally minutes from downtown so there is walkability to tons of local restaurants, shops and businesses. In addition, the Future Oasis Bike Trail will tie into the development, enabling residents to access a path behind  their homes connecting downtown Cincinnati to the Little Miami bike path.

Homeowners love this urban development for a number of rea-sons. For starters, it’s on the river so every single lot has dynamite river and city views. What’s great is that although residents can soak in beautiful sunsets each night of the Cincinnati skyline, they don’t have to be bothered by the noise of living in the middle of downtown. Every home has some type of rooftop terrace or deck, each designed to offer a unique and breathtaking river view.

The lawn and landscaping are maintained by a HOA; permanent green space, a no-outlet street, and architectural guidelines protect investments. In addition, these luxury homes are all LEED Gold certified with a 15-year tax abatement.

The area is extra special due to its rich history. Formerly Pendleton Yard, it’s part of railroad history as this site was a connection used as  a switch station to connect Cincinnati to other railroads throughout the country.

This winter the home show at Walworth Junction, called

“Cityscapes: Cincinnati Edition,” will run December 3-5 and December 10-12, 2021. Sterling Homes will have three gorgeous homes available to tour, all of which are for sale.

“We’re going to show a transitional, traditional and contemporary style homes on lots 7, 8, and 9,” says Brad Olinger, founder of Sterling Homes.

All demographics are flocking to check out homes in Walworth Junction because the appeal spans the generations.

“We have a young couple with no kids who just moved in, and a few houses down from that is a 70-year-old widower who built a $1.3M home for himself, his kids and his grandkids,” says Olinger. “He told us that he chose this location because he wanted to live his best life.””

Walworth Junction was selected by the National Association of Home Builders as the best parade/tour of homes in its category in the entire country.

Sterling Homes is located at 347 Stanley Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45226.  For more information, call 513.659.5361 or visit sterlinghomescincinnati.com.
