“Your home is where memories are made, and everyone deserves a home that suits their particular needs and dreams,” says Traci Gruenwald, owner and president of Make Her Mark Design in Montgomery. “Redesigning and remodeling a home provides families with the opportunity to shape it according to their needs, aspirations and changing circumstances. And we love being a part of that!”

Traci founded Make Her Mark Design in early 2017 with her husband and co-founder, Todd. “Our first renovation project was a small two-bedroom, one-bath brick home with a ton of character,” she remembers. “It was so fun bringing that little house back to its former glory with modern updates! What we enjoyed even more was seeing the new homeowner so happy in their new home.”

After catching the remodeling bug, Traci and Todd decided to leave their corporate day jobs and embark on a new adventure together. It was only a short time before their services expanded to construction partnerships and more. “I come from a long line of architects and builders,” Todd explains, “so the passion was already a part of me.”

Make Her Mark Design, Traci says, excels in effectively working with clients, architects, contractors and other stakeholders throughout the design and construction process. “Our goal is to differentiate Make Her Mark Design by fostering positive and productive relationships,” she explains.

Anyone who has undertaken recent home repairs or remodeling can attest to the seeming shortage of qualified, available providers — and Traci agrees. “Lucky for us, we have a great team that we partner with to facilitate growth and have projects start sooner.” She emphasizes the importance of partnering only with those who meet Make Her Mark’s quality standards.

“Our customers appreciate us because we take the time to understand their specific needs, preferences and lifestyle. We listen attentively, ask relevant questions, and tailor the design approach to align with our client’s vision,” Traci says. “Delighting our clients through the process until their final walkthrough is exciting and extremely rewarding.”

Not only is the work satisfying, but the region is, too. “We both moved here in our early 20s and never looked back!” Traci laughs. “Cincinnati has such a small-town feel and so much to offer. We’re sports fanatics and love the Bengals, FC Cincinnati, the Reds, and college sports. We also enjoy the arts, the region’s history, its unique architecture and the vibrant diversity of the city and its people.”

In addition to revitalizing homes and workspaces, Make Her Mark Design encourages donations to Habitat for Humanity ReStore and supports the local chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), Cincinnati Cancer Advisors (CCA), and Best Day Ever Foundation (BDEF). Traci served as Board Chair for LLS and is currently a BDEF board member. She shares that those struggling to overcome cancer have touched the couple’s lives. “It’s our deepest desire to help patients and families impacted by this terrible disease,” says Traci, a breast cancer survivor.

Whether you are looking to make minor updates to your home or planning a major construction project, Make Her Mark Design is here, ready to be your trusted partner every step of the way. They even offer virtual design consultations and will travel to assist in designing a vacation home or investment property.

“No matter how small, the impact can be huge,” Traci says. Remodels are an investment that can yield returns in terms of improved functionality, aesthetics, and potential financial gains. “A home provides shelter, safety and relaxation. It offers an emotional connection. A home is yours to personalize. It provides a place to socialize and entertain. And it might serve as your home office and workplace,” she adds.

A home is where families create and share memories, and, at the same time, it can be one of their most significant investments, Traci continues. “Taking a space that isn’t working for them and using our creative vision along with their wants, needs and dreams is challenging and fulfilling. It’s really moving to play such a significant role in creating a vibrant and functional living space.”
