Q. How did Evolo Design get started?
Evolo Design has been in business for 20 years. It originally started as a kitchen and bath firm that specialized in cabinetry and later grew to become a full-service design/build firm. I started with the company in 2010 after moving here from Las Vegas where I had worked for a hospitality design firm. When I moved to Cincinnati, that passion for custom interiors came with me. I originally came on board as an interior designer and purchased the firm 3½ years ago. Evolo is about the evolution of design.
Q. How would you describe the work you do?
I look at our firm as a boutique construction firm. We want to work on projects that are all about good design work, and we want to execute that and help manage every part of that process. We love partnering with companies that “get it.” When we use Pella or other suppliers that are on that luxury level, they “get it.”
We’re experts in the field and really partner with our clients to create for them one-of-a-kind interiors.
My passion lies in customer service and interior design. I think anybody who works with me and our firm understands that we’re a client-focused firm. We collaborate with our clients and develop a design that’s really catered to the client. What I design for a client in Indian Hill is not the same thing I design for a client with a smaller urban footprint in OTR.
Q. What sets you apart?
It’s the creative talents we have within the organization. We have an interior side where we manage the whole process for clients. From a fabric and wall covering standpoint, we always do the January Paris market to make sure we stay on top of all of the industry’s latest releases in fabrics and furnishings. We represent about 10 different custom fabric lines that are all European based. Evolo has become known for using these beautiful materials to create custom furnishings for our clients.
One thing that sets us apart is that we’ve spent the money to keep up with the latest technology for our industry. We’ve completely changed how we do our drawings because we’ve learned that if we spend the time on the front end it’s going to serve the project better, both in terms of budget and schedule.
We try to be active listeners with our clients and earn that trust. We want to build something beautiful, something special and lasting.
