Voltage Furniture to Showcase Latest European Luxury Brands

Celebrating 34 years in business, Voltage continues to offer the highest level of luxury European products. Drawing from Voltage’s extensive collection of Italian brands, their designers craft cultured, elegant yet functional settings.

This year marks Voltage’s first visit to the Salone del Mobile furniture fair in Milan since 2018, partly because of COVID-19.

The Salone del Mobile, established in 1961 to promote the export of luxury Italian furniture, has rapidly become the global standard for furniture and design, attracting industry leaders from around the world. This event provides the opportunity for Voltage designers to meet with other designers and sectors to discuss projects, exchange ideas, catch up with the international community of creators and preview new collections. The fair occupies 2.25 million square feet at the Rho Fiera Milano fairgrounds.

“It’s an extensive amount of space to cover in just a few days,” says Voltage owner Jeff Hinkel.

Hinkel and designer Shannon Riley visited their manufacturers’ booths at the fair in April. Some stalls were two stories high and more than 10,000 square feet. The booths featured the newest collections, kept under lock and key until the opening of Salone del Mobile.

At each appointment, the design team carefully reviewed the new collections and selected pieces to become the latest additions to Voltage’s showroom.

“There needs to be an immediate emotional attraction to a piece; without that, there is no use digging further,” Hinkel says. “The collection needs to urge you to sit, feel and experience it. Ultimately, we think about how these pieces would work not only in the showroom but how our clients would react to these pieces as well — what arrangement, what fabrics, what colors best suit the Voltage lifestyle.”

Salone del Mobile not only gives Voltage the opportunity to outfit its showroom with the latest modern furniture collections but also gives the designers a chance to see what else is available.

“Our goal is to curate a collection of interior items from furniture to rugs and accessories,” Riley says. “There are so many manufacturers available to us. Our intent is to provide only the best for our clients. We can see it all at Salone and select what best reflects our quality and aesthetic.”

The new pieces from Salone del Mobile will be available to view at Voltage by late fall.
