Hats, Horses & Hearts Presented by Kindervelt #50 Raises More Than $75,000

America's Race is the Greatest Two Minutes in Sports, but the Ladies of Kindervelt 50 hosted more than just another Derby Party; "Hats, Horses & Hearts" was a celebration to raise much needed funds to support breakthrough care provided through the Cincinnati Children's Heart Institute / Neurodevelopmental Educational Clinic. This clinic works to serve the needs of children suffering from complex heart problems, particularly those at risk of neurodevelopmental complications.

On Saturday, May 7th, 2016, Kenwood Country Club was transformed into a breath- taking decor design by Chrissie Blatt Creative while a crowd of over 300 Kindervelt supporters donned their Derby-chic hats and attire, sipped mint juleps and placed their bets on their favorite Kentucky Derby Horse Contender. The event featured bourbon tasting, dinner and desserts by the bite, unique silent auction and raffle items. Dancing and music by DJ ETrayn went late into the night. This successful event raised over $75,000 in revenue.

Kindervelt #50 "Hats, Horses & Hearts" is extremely thankful for the support of this year's presenting sponsors: Mercedes Benz of Cincinnati, Knowlton Foundation, Tisdel Distributors, BB&T Bank, Pure Romance and the Kenwood Country Club.

About Kindervelt

Kindervelt members are celebrating over 40 years as an Auxiliary of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The organization is comprised of 1,000 members, belonging to 38 different neighborhood groups. Kindervelt is currently raising funds for the Heart Institute: Kindervelt Neurodevelopmental, Educational and Learning Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Research shows that children with complex heart problems are at a greater risk for a wide-range of neurodevelopmental issues such as delayed fine and gross motor skills; difficulties with speech and language; attention, behavioral and emotional problems; delayed school preparedness and more.

The Kindervelt Neurodevelopmental, Educational and Learning Center is one of the first programs in the country to provide targeted, individualized care to meet all of a child’s needs and prepare them for their best future. The Center provides ongoing care as children grow and develop over time.

The multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluation for infants through adolescents by offering families the appropriate screening, evaluation and treatment resources.

Kindervelt is proud to partner with the Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children’s. Together, we will change the outcome for children with complicated heart issues and the families who love them.
