Magnified Giving Announces Award Ceremonies for 2016 Fund Granting

WHAT: Magnified Giving, which seeks to educate, inspire and engage students in life-long philanthropy, is concluding its 2016 student program with four (4) awards ceremonies. This year more than sixty (60) high schools across the region have participated in the program, with 3,000 students participating. The students have engaged in a process of evaluating potential charity recipients and selecting one to which their student group is awarding the grant.  For the first time, the total annual awards to be granted will exceed $100,000.

WHY:  Magnified Giving was founded on the concept that philanthropy can and should be taught. The goal is to develop tomorrow’s philanthropists today, by introducing high school students to the needs of our community. With exposure to local charities students see the potential of applying their own time, talent and treasure to benefit others. High-school-age students have a God-given heart for sharing with others and through the Magnified Giving program are able to learn and apply the skills necessary for effective philanthropy. By training thousands of students each year in these proven and community-changing methods, Magnified Giving literally magnifies the impact of donors’ funds both now and into the future.
