Inaugural Golf Classic "Fairways for Furniture"

New Life Furniture Bank held their inaugural golf classic “Fairways to Furniture” on Monday, July 19th at the Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio. The event, which was presented by Prasco, and sponsored by over 30 local corporations including Clark Schaefer Hackett, Huntington, Re/Max Time, Comey & Shepherd, Recreations Outlet, Oxford Title Agency, HR Elements, and Junk King, raised over $35,000 to help fund New Life Furniture Bank’s goal of furnishing 1,500 homes this year for families in need.

“The event was a huge success as both a friend-raiser and fundraiser, with 116 golfers who participated," said Rick Wirthlin, Senior Vice President at Huntington National Bank, and Co-Chair of this year’s event. “Many area residents are still not familiar with New Life Furniture Bank. It was an honor to introduce them to an organization making such a difference in our community.”

The Oasis Golf Club was recently ranked the Cincinnati area's 7th most challenging private course by the USGA Rankings System. New Life Furniture Bank looks forward to making this golf classic an annual event in support of their mission.

New Life Furniture Bank is Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky’s only “furniture bank” providing furniture to individuals and families overcoming homelessness, extreme poverty, domestic abuse, and other devastating circumstances. Last year, the empty houses of over 1,000 neighbors in need were furnished with donations of gently used beds, dressers, tables, chairs, sofas, and lamps, plus tables and cubbies crafted by volunteers. This year the need is even greater as the economic impact of the pandemic hits our most vulnerable neighbors.
