It’s all "Happening" at the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Summer Fundraiser

Many kicked off their summer at the Cincinnati Art Museum’s “A Happening” event on the "Art Climb" on Friday, June 18. The ticketed celebration took place outside the museum along the Art Climb steps, at the corner of Gilbert Avenue and Eden Park Drive and made use of the museum’s beautifully redesigned parking lot and arrival court to highlight the views of the city and sculptures currently on display.

Attendees enjoyed live music by the Young Heirlooms and DJ Mowgli, performances by Pones—a local artistic dance group, and delicious food and drink throughout the evening.

All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting programming at the museum, contributing to a more vibrant Cincinnati by inspiring its people and connecting its many communities.

Since the early 1950s, artists like Allan Kaprow, Jim Dine, Yoko Ono, Andy Warhol and others have staged “Happenings”—live, experiential art events that are designed to dismantle conventions and facilitate an atmosphere of creativity, self-expression, and fun. It is with this inspiration that the museum’s young professional leaders, the CAM Catalysts, present this summer’s biggest event to benefit the museum.
