Having two daughters get engaged within the same month would be daunting for most parents, but Ann Hayden, mother of Claire Brown and Nadyne Sukys, was ready for the challenge. One of the first calls she made for both of her daughters was to Kevin Ford, owner of Ford-Ellington Wedding & Event Design.
“I was never the little 5-year-old girl that dreamed of her wedding, that was definitely Nadyne.” says Claire. “Kevin made planning our wedding fun and easy. He immediately understood that Wade and I are laid back.”
Claire wanted a rustic, nature-inspired wedding in a beautiful setting. “When we first met with Kevin we were unsure of where to look. He suggested French Park and we loved it! If it had not been for Kevin’s design ideas and really understanding us and our wishes, I’m not sure how we would have gotten through this wedding. The wedding he created was exactly our wedding style, and we couldn’t have been happier.”
Nadyne had always dreamed of a wintery Christmas-themed wedding with Christmas greens, deep crimson reds and gold. She wanted a more designed and traditional style. “It was a really fun process working with Kevin,” says Nadyne. “He really listened. I felt totally confident that he would design the wedding I had dreamed of since I was a young girl.”
“Early in the planning process my mom and I had talked about having fresh Christmas garlands hanging from the trusses at the Hyde Park Country Club, but we decided to throw my dad a bone and cut it,” says Nadyne. “I walked in the day of the wedding to see Kevin and Roger hanging greenery from the wooded beams. Having the greenery to draw your eye up was really special. We both got so emotional about this surprise detail. The design was magical and romantic and exceeded my dreams!”
With the help of Ford and their mom, Claire and Nadyne each celebrated the wedding of their dreams.
